40 Days – Day 18

40 Days of Lent – From Release to Embrace

Rule 18

If you want to change the way others treat you, you should first change the way you treat yourself. Unless you learn to love yourself, fully and sincerely, there is no way you can be loved. Once you achieve that stage, however, be thankful for every thorn that others might throw at you. It is a sign that you will soon be showered in roses.“*

Today, we are releasing Fear of Illness and embracing God’s Love for us.

Our Lent Booklet reminds us today that our health is one of the most precious gift we have. “Let us remember that our thoughts and feelings are magnets that attract like conditions and situations into our lives. If we are fearful about physical ailments, we are actually sending out vibrations that will attract them to us. “Instead of being fearful, we can chose to focus on what we desire: good health and wholeness.

Today, I invite you to contemplate on Rule No18 and the quote below. Let me know how practicing releasing fear of illness worked for you today.

I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal,
says the Lord. Jeremiah 30:17

Today we affirm:  I accept health and wholeness as my divine birthright.

Contemplation – Day17

The whole universe is contained within a single human being — you. Everything that you see around, including the things that you might not be fond of and even the people you despise or abhor, is present within you in varying degrees. Therefore, do not look for Sheitan [“Devil” in Arabic] outside yourself, either. The devil is not an extraordinary force that attacks from without. It is an ordinary voice within, if you set to know yourself fully, facing with honesty and hardness.

This is my day. I am courageous and trust my inner power.

This rule is hard for me to ‘digest’. I travel a lot. I meet a lot of people and I find myself in my different situations. Life truly allows me to see myself in many different light so I can truly see myself as I am, in my own unique totality.

So, there are places, people and circumstances that reflect the part of me that is light, funny and kind. Other places allow me to see where I am hurting and feel unlovable. I am at a place like that right now. The unresolved and unattended traumas of this part of the world helps me see my own childhood wounds.

The criticism and disapproval that I am surrounded with is only a reminded to surround myself with the Divine Love.

Today, we are releasing  Change and embracing God’s Love for us.

Our Lent Booklet reminds us today that change is a natural part of life. The fear that seems to accompany change is due to uncertainty. As we look back we can recognize that we have always been in a state of change. Our life have been one change after another. We acknowledge the fear but we also acknowledge the fact that we have overcome many changes and we have the necessary strength and courage to face another change.

Today, I invite you to contemplate on Rule No17 and the quote below. Let me know how practicing releasing  fear of change worked for you today.

I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Today we affirm:  This is my day. I am courageous and trust my inner power.

Contemplation – Day16

It’s easy to love a perfect God, unblemished and infallible that He is. What is far more difficult is to love fellow human beings with all their imperfections and defects. Remember, one can only know what one is capable of loving. There is no wisdom without love. Unless we learn to love God’s creation, we can neither truly love nor truly know God.

I let nothing and no one upset the calm peace of my soul.

I just love today’s Rule. It reminds me to keep on embracing God’s world regardless of its imperfections. It is so easy for me to find faults and criticize because I am attuned with ; let’s do it differently’ attitude, but I know well that  when I do that I disconnect myself from the wisdom of Love.

Todays, I visited a place where people did not seem to be very kind or nice. It is just the way they are, I suppose. I did not let it upset me, neither did I criticizing them for it.  They probably like the way they are 🙂 Instead, I bought myself a nice pair of shoes and enjoyed my friend’s company by a cup of jasmine tea. <3

40 Days of Lent – From Release to Embrace

Rule 16

Real filth is the one inside. The rest simply washes off. There is only one type of dirt that cannot be cleansed with pure waters, and that is the stain of hatred and bigotry contaminating the soul. You can purify your body through abstinence and fasting, but only love will purify your heart.”*

Today, we are releasing Loneliness and embracing God’s Love for us.

Our Lent Booklet reminds us today that loneliness is a sense of lack or yearning. Instead we can  allow possibilities to emerge. We can remember that we are always connected to others in the flow of life. It is impossible to feel alone when one is connected to Spirit that is always in and around us.

Today, I invite you to contemplate on Rule No16 and the quote below. Let me know how practicing releasing loneliness worked for you today.

Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my
victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Today we affirm:  From the infinite, eternal, abundant Source,
I receive inspiration and absolute love.

Today, we are releasing Drama and embracing God’s Love for us.

Our Lent Booklet reminds us today that drama  is often accompanied with emotional anxiety, envy, depression, confusion and anger. However, by maintaining our spiritual stability we can handle any drama. It is also beneficial to apply affirmations and denials as we choose to enter different situations in our lives.

Similar to our Rule today, we are reminded again that as we centre ourselves in Love we are able to bring forward Loving into any situation. It is surely easy to engage when the event at hand is joyful and people are nice and accommodating. There is no life without drama, however. It is just part of life. The test of the pudding is to stay loving and kind when drama sets in without becoming numb. Drama is not to avoid but to learn from.

Today, I invite you to contemplate on Rule No15 and the quote below. Let me know how practicing releasing drama worked for you today.

Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful
for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29

Today we affirm:  I let nothing and no one upset the calm peace of my soul.

Contemplation – Day14

God is busy with the completion of your work, both outwardly and inwardly. He is fully occupied with you. Every human being is a work in progress that is slowly but inexorably moving toward realization. We are each an unfinished work of art both waiting and striving to be completed. God deals with each of us separately because humanity is a fine art of skilled penmanship where every single dot is equally important for the entire picture.

Faithfully, I wait for truth.

Well, not a particularly inspiring day today. Headachy and low in energy, even dizzy … not sure what the reason is behind my symptoms but I could definitely practice today’s affirmation.

I am a work in progress hoping that even on days like this I am moving inexorably towards my realization which is my oneness with the Divine by releasing and embracing … what is.

As I am getting older, I am more in touch with my body’s ups and downs and it has greater influence on my felling of wellness or the lack of it. One of my biggest challenge personally is to work with it, work with the not being able to do as much as I would like or was once able to. I am learning to become patience and move with what presents me with: in this case laying in bed and waiting for the headache to ease away.

Yes, I am waiting patiently to be ready for the next step …

Contemplation – Day13

Try not to resist the changes, which come your way. Instead let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?.

When I make mistakes, I’m making progress.

I have an ambivalent relationship with change. For a long time I wanted my days to be different  from what they were, so I pursued change and begged it to be my companion.  At the same time, I fear change. It keeps me unsettled and ungrounded.

You cannot step into the same water twice. Change is inevitable. But I am also realizing that ‘what is’ is just as important as the ‘different’ that is about to come. Staying open and allowing life to live through me is the key. When I notice that I try to control life, I tell myself to ‘step back and breathe’. When I am too hasty to brush an experience out of my way because it makes me feel uncomfortable or fearful, I tell myself ‘to stay with it and breathe through it’.

Contemplation – Day12

There are more fake gurus and false teachers in this world than the number of stars in the visible universe. Don’t confuse power-driven, self-centered people with true mentors. A genuine spiritual master will not direct your attention to himself or herself and will not expect absolute obedience or utter admiration from you, but instead will help you to appreciate and admire your inner self. True mentors are as transparent as glass. They let the light of God pass through them.

Through spiritual understanding, I follow the divine wisdom available in every moment of my life.

How appropriate! It is ONLY personal spiritual understanding that we can truly rely on when we are in search of the truth. No one can tell us what the truth is, we must discover it for ourselves.

I know a lot of disappointed people who feel that they were lied to. I grew up during the socialistic regime in Hungary. We lived in at a time when – similar to how it was displayed in George Orwell’s 1985 – facts were altered to fit the political climate. Everybody lied. Some lied to stay alive, some lied for personal gains. I knew one thing for sure: I could not trust anyone with the truth. However, many people tried to navigate in the sea of lies but found themselves disappointed at the end.

I got lucky. Because of the way I grew up, I never looked for the truth outside of myself. It is a rather challenging way of living when you make all your decisions by trial-and-error, but I knew that I can only trust my own experiences.

It is the same with me and the Divine. I do not trust what I am told about God or the Divine, or what is written in holy books. I know God the way I feel IT. My understanding of God (the Divine) solely stems from my inner personal experiences as part of the energy that we call God or the Divine.

As long as we listen to someone else’s understanding of Spirit, God, the World … anything, we will find ourselves disappointed and misled. In my observation, we all experience our existence and everything in it through our own senses, our own individual perception.

I also noticed that true guides only show up after I have carved the beginning of my own understanding of matters. They support me to keep myself aligned with what I already know.
