‘GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO MESS IT UP’ TASK
This task is about ‘not following rules’.
Most of us seem to struggle with the notion of ‘meeting’ expectation without realizing that those expectations that you seem to ‘have to meet’ are inside of you. They are all yours. So, you can undo them.
When it comes to art, we somehow adopt this highly critical eye. We look at Picasso, Michelangelo and Dali and draw conclusions about our ability to create a piece of artwork. ‘Neeeeh, I am no good at this. I better not do this. I’ll just be a laughing stock!‘
Yes, it maybe true. At the same time, you can also untangle yourself from this web of extremely high expectations and just have fun with it.
This week’s task is to have fun! 🙂
You are asked and share in the group a piece of artwork you create ‘just for the fun of it’. There are NO RULES! Just allow yourself to create. Take the pencils, crayons, watercolors, scissors, magazines, etc, and a piece of paper out and CREATE. WHATEVER!
These are my suggestions!
- Put on some music. Look for and find the music that will support you and inspire you to create this piece of artwork.
2. Keep taking actions! Draw a line or cut out a word or picture and stick it on the paper. Then look at it and just go with you gut feeling. Draw another line or stick on another word, etc. Keep on going. Simply allow the artwork to appear on the paper. Mess it up! Cover it up! Add more to it!
3. Finally, claim it to be done!
My only request is that you please hang this piece of art work on the wall of your home somewhere and use it as a reminder that YOU ARE FREE TO CREATE! What you have created will be unique! AND SO YOU ARE!
Below is my free to create project. I did not create a video or take numerous pictures because I do not want to set any expectations in you. All I did was playing around with aqua pencils and watercolor. I made a mess of it and it felt liberating! 🙂
I am only sharing mine as an example, as sharing my own uniqueness with you.
KEEP ON TAKING ACTIONS AND HAVE FUN WITH IT!
