Different is good

In this podcast I talk about how a genius, someone with a higher level of awareness, can make a positive difference in the life of those around him. (Read some information on the circumstance of this performance below.)

Some facts

One of the most widely-circulated links after Prince’s death was a video of his induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

It sees Prince joining an all-star version of the Beatles’ While My Guitar Gently Weeps, backed by Tom Petty, Steve Winwood and George Harrison’s son, Dhani. He keeps to the sidelines until the final two minutes, when he steps forward to deliver one of the most breathtaking guitar solos you’ve ever seen, full of fluttering high notes and ringing harmonics.

Amazingly, Prince never rehearsed this moment with the band. At a run-through the night before it was Jeff Lynne’s guitarist, Marc Mann, who took the solo.

“Prince doesn’t say anything, just starts strumming, plays a few leads here and there, but for the most part, nothing memorable,” recalled Joel Gallen, who directed the ceremony.

But when the big moment came, Prince stole the show. At one point, he turned to face Petty and Harrison, then fell backwards into the audience – while still playing – before strutting off stage, throwing his guitar into the air before the song ended.

“You see me nodding at him, to say, ‘Go on, go on,'” Petty told the New York Times. “I remember I leaned out at him at one point and gave him a ‘This is going great!’ kind of look.

“He just burned it up. You could feel the electricity of ‘something really big’s going down here.'”

Prince later claimed he had never even heard the song before it was sent to him to learn for the performance.

Az őszinteség fontossága

Cikk, a Nőklapja Psychologia Augusztusi számában talállható

Tisztelem a bátorságáért.

A alábbi cikk részleteket a Nőklapjaa Pszichologia-ban találtam. A cikk irója stresszoldó légzés-tecnika oktató. Kipróbáltam, tényleg jó! )

The Love Chapter

– The significance of the famous ‘love chapter’, ICorinthians 13-

ICorinthians 13 beautifully talks about the human journey into Love or Oneness; starting from the beginnings when one is lost in the world, through learning and practice, arriving to enlightenment where one sees ‘in parts’ no more but sees eternity.

13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

This passage talks about the very beginning of the journey when we only know the world. Our words and actions are empty because it has no aware consciousness just yet. It describes how our efforts are in vain until our thoughts and actions come from a place of Oneness.

The second passage gives meaning to LOVE and explains what it and how it is different from the ‘empty’ words and actions described in the previous passage. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”. Therefore, LOVE is Oneness with all and embracing it all without fail. To be in LOVE means to be centred in Divine Presence and following Divine Guidance in all matters. It is being a living example of the Truth.

In the third passage he talks about the final step, the arrival of our evolutionary journey in Spirit. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
As we grow in Spirit we leave behind the limitations of our childhood, the way we were brought up, the conditioning. It also means that when we start on our inner journey our understanding of Spirit is limited.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. As we walk the inner journey, we let go of our misconceptions, partial knowledge and beliefs that do not serve the Truth. At the end, all that “is in part disappears” and we are centered in LOVE.

12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
In Divine Presence, in Truth I am faced with my own eternity, and I can see myself and know myself fully in God as God.

“Whoever knows himself, knows his Lord”

True self-knowledge is essential for one to establish a relationship with the Creator. The human soul contains mysteries that, when discovered, reveal the nature of the Divine to us and allow us to grow closer to It and to ourselves at the same time.

God is revealed through Me. When I know myself, I know God.

A classic Arabic proverb states:

مَنْ عَرَفَ نَفْسَهُ فَقَدْ عَرَفَ رَبَّهُ

Whoever knows himself, knows his Lord.

Mucha

MY INSPIRATIONS VOLUME 10.

It is difficult not to like Alphone Mucha. I love the curves, the glitters, the glossy, shiny, glorious (mostly) female elegance.

He was a Czech painter, illustrator and graphic artist, living in Paris during the Art Nouveau period. He is best known for his distinctly stylized and decorative theatrical posters.

First, I saw some of original work in Chicago. I found them mesmerizing. Being in the Mucha Museum is like being in an enchanted castle. You are immediately transported to the world of Art Deco, the world of glitters, sleek and anti-traditional elegance that symbolized wealth and sophistication.

Where is MY loyalty?

Recently I wrote about the loyalty I have for the people around me and for my country based on social conditioning.

Today, I was contemplating on whether I can shift my loyalty elsewhere.

There is nothing wrong with me being loyal. I think it is a great asset and a wonderful quality in a person. It is also rare, I think.

We are made of energy. Energy is constantly in motion. E = mc2. Where we focus our energy where our consciousness goes with it. If we are unaware and blindly follow our social conditioning, we end up where the majorly is, no matter how much we disagree with it mentally.

My sense of loyalty is guided by my social conditioning. I am loyal to people who hurt me because I was told that true loyalty is with the people who raised you, and with the country who ‘birthed’ you. (See my blogpost on this topic here, CLICK)

It is not true.

Loyalty is a Soul-quality.

To me, LOYALTY means to be True to MYSELF and what matters the most. And what matters the most is My- Self, my-evolution, my-enlightenment, emergence of my Soul-Essence.

These days we talk a lot about SELF-LOVE. But what does it actually mean? How do you practically love yourself?

I hear people claim that they love themselves by cooking a healthy meal and make a candle-lit dinner of it or having a replenishing bath. I can attest that they both add positively to the quality of my life, but I do not particularly feel loved by either of them.

As a result of my loyalty-wobble I took a hard look at the ways I tend NOT to love myself. I don’t love myself when I say YES though I mean NO. I don’t love myself when I try to explain myself because I want the other person to ‘get’ me. I don’t love myself when I accommodate others’ needs but neglect my own. I don’t love myself when I put up with abusive behaviour because I want to avoid conflicts. Sounds familiar?

So, how is it when I actually do love myself?

I stay TRUE TO MYSELF. Well, it is often not as dramatic as walking out …

“The greatest thing in the world is to know how to belong to oneself.”  Michel de Montaigne, The Complete Essays

It simply means that I look at the situation sincerely. Every situation I find myself in reflects me. I listen to the words being uttered, I look at behaviours, I observe how I feel. I notice if I am in reaction with anything happening around me or if I am controlling or protecting. I look for signs if I am ‘myself’ or not.

I LOVE MYSELF by not reacting. People just do what they do regardless of what I think is right or just. When I am in reaction, I engage in the same energy I do not like so I generate it. I love myself by keeping my energy ‘up’. Yes, I do my best to surround myself with nice people who appreciate me but it is not always possible. Nevertheless, it is my responsibility to feel good about myself no matter what.

When I am TRUE TO MYSELF, I am calm and honest. I am neither pleasing, nor act superior. I am observant and thoughtful. Simply, my job is to keep on re-aligning myself with MYSELF. I am not in reaction because what’s going on does not resonate with me any more.

As I embrace myself just as I am, I am TRUE TO MYSELF.

“When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everyone will respect you.”

Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching

The video talks about the controversial topic of transgender transition. I invite you to watch this video as an inspiring example of becoming TRUE to ONESELF, no matter what!

This lovely video talks about ‘self image’ and how a false image hinders us in staying TRUE to SELF.

Kandinsky

MY INSPIRATIONS VOL1.

I love Kandinsky because he believed in the deep connection between ART and our SOUL. He wrote extensively about the way ART influences the SPIRIT and vice versa.

*

“Painting was a spiritual activity for Kandinsky.

In 1912 he published the book, Concerning the Spiritual in Art. He believed that art should not be merely representational but should strive to express spirituality and the depth of human emotion…”

In his book, Concerning the Spiritual in Art, Kandinsky writes,

“Color directly influences the soul. Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammers, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another purposively, to cause vibrations in the soul.”
